 IRIS-BEARDED Perennial Height: 3’ Light: Sun-Part Shade Flowering: Spring-Mid-Summer Zone 2
When planting Iris select a site in full sun to partial shade with average to rich well-drained soil. When planting the top of the rhizome should be just above the soil surface. Rhizomes planted too deeply are susceptible to rot and tend not to bloom very heavily. To create good-sized attractive looking clumps, arrange the rhizomes in-groups of 3 or 5, spacing the individual pieces 10-12” apart. Water plants regularly until they become established. Once established Iris become tough drought resistant plants. Avoid mulching as it can cause rhizomes to rot. Divide clumps every 2-3 years. $6 Per Pot |
