Grow Centaurea in informal or cottage-style gardens and combine them with other early summer blooming perennials such as peonies, Oriental poppy, columbine, bleeding heart. They tolerate average soil and even dry conditions, very easy care. Deadhead regularly to encourage new blooms. When they stop blooming, cut the plants to within several inches of the ground to encourage repeat fall blooming.
