Perfect for the smaller garden, magnolia Susan flowers mid-late spring with reddish purple flowers. Narrow goblet shaped blossoms up to 5” across. While this magnolia blooms mainly in spring it may continue to bloom sporadically where moisture is adequate. Leaves turn golden yellow in the fall. Begins blooming at an early age and makes an elegant small specimen tree. Susan blooms a few weeks later than stellata usually escaping potential frost damage.
