Aster Tataricus

Aster Tataricus
Perennial
6-8’
Full Sun
Flowers in Fall
Zone 3

Aster Tataricus is an impressive stately perennial that can look you in the eye! No staking required. More impressive, this aster flowers longer than any other garden aster, beginning at the end of August and finishing in November. The 1” wide lavender purple flowers are a magnet for migrating monarch butterflies. Tataricus is not at all fussy about it’s soil and can form large colonies, give her lots of room to grow! Do not plant in overly rich soil they tend to flop in those conditions. Easily divided. If you do wish them to be shorter and stockier just give them the Chelsea Chop mid July. (Cut back by 1/3)
