Asclepias is an important source of food for Monarch Butterflies. Forms a narrow leaved upright clump of foliage bearing showy flower clusters mid to late summer in shades of gold,yellow,orange and scarlet. Very slow to emerge in the spring. Brings good texture and vibrant colour to the garden. Drought tolerant once established. Striking sight when massed.
