Teucrium purple tails is a very elegant perennial that is long flowering and suitable to almost all situations in the garden. Long kitten like tails hold tight jade green buds that open to form plush spikes of purple red flowers. Neat mounds of crinkly green foliage. Bloom from July until October. Can grow in shade amongst trees but flower more freely in full sun.. Heat and drought resistant. Attracts butterfly and bees. Named for the king of Troy who was said to be the first to discover medicinal properties. Hardy to -26F so mulch up in the fall and allow to self seed.
