Belamcanda derives its name from the clusters of shiny black seeds exposed when seed capsules split open. Even though it is called a lily it is actually in the Iris family. Fan-shaped leaves will reach 2 to 3 feet. Blackberry Lilies are native to China and Japan. Flowers are orange with a red dot and are 2 inches across. Attractive to butterflies. Clumps should be divided every 3 to 4 years in the spring. Clean up old leaves in the fall and dispose. $6 pot
