Hummingbirds love this bright flower! Bold, intense orange-scarlet blooms appear early to mid-summer above dark purple foliage. Makes good cut flowers too! Plant in full sun. This lychnis has a simple flower with 5 deeply notched petals, but they are quite showy because they occur in heads held well above the foliage, which maximizes their effect. The flowers are great for borders, containers etc in sun on well drained soils. Drought tolerant when established.
