I love this grass from eastern Europe to Siberia for its elegance and it's "bamboo-like" feeling. Wide, glossy green foliage in loose tufts. The purple flowers are a narrow panicle growing 1-2' above the foliage. A showy flowering accent for lightly shaded woodland settings or effective mid-border for early summer appeal. Ensure moisture. Resents hot, dry situations or heavy, wet, poorly drained soil.
